Pasqual Maragall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Visita a la Fundaci\u00f3n Pasqual Maragall<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El d\u00eda 30 de mayo un grupo de nuestro club, acompa\u00f1ados por el Gobernador Eduardo Cuello y su esposa, fuimos a visitar el Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n de la Fundaci\u00f3n Pasqual Maragall, el BarcelonaBeta Brain Research Center, que se halla en el Campus de la Universidad Pompeu Fabra, y donde nos recibieron la directora, Gloria Oliver, y Natalia Izard, responsable de Fundraising. \u00a0Pasamos m\u00e1s de dos horas interesant\u00edsimas y muy intensas en el bello edificio dise\u00f1ado por el arquitecto Juan Navarro Baldeweg, aprendiendo mucho sobre la enfermedad del Alzheimer, que es nuestro principal proyecto 2018\/19, y seguir\u00e1 si\u00e9ndolo en 2019\/20, y visitando las instalaciones del Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n. Dicho Centro est\u00e1 conectado con todos los investigadores del Alzheimer, tanto en Espa\u00f1a como a nivel mundial. Seg\u00fan las estad\u00edsticas, hoy en d\u00eda una persona de cada diez corre el riesgo de padecer la enfermedad a partir de cierta edad. Puesto que la\u00a0 esperanza de vida se ha elevado a un ritmo constante, las nuevas generaciones probablemente lleguen a la edad de 100 a\u00f1os. Se calcula que en 2050, uno de cada dos octogenarios sufrir\u00e1 Alzheimer o alguna demencia. El Alzheimer todav\u00eda no tiene cura. Sabemos que es una enfermedad, no una consecuencia de hacernos mayores, as\u00ed que la ciencia es la \u00fanica soluci\u00f3n. La Fundaci\u00f3n Maragall apuesta por dedicar su esfuerzo a la identificaci\u00f3n precoz y la prevenci\u00f3n de la enfermedad de Alzheimer. La ciencia es el camino para obtener m\u00e1s conocimiento sobre la enfermedad y la innovaci\u00f3n la gu\u00eda para buscar soluciones que mejoren la calidad de vida de las personas afectadas y de
